GentleHands is the perfect location for students and parents to work with their violin instructor in the classroom and then enjoy the afternoon in the beautiful, Montessori-inspired playroom. MLE’s new Preschool Violin Class is specially designed for students ages 3-6 and their parents. Held once a week for thirty minutes over a period of six weeks, this is the perfect class for students who have graduated from general music classes and are ready for a new challenge. The six-week session includes one parent training class and five classes for the student and parent. Level I skills include learning rest and playing position, learning the parts of the violin, left hand positioning, bow hold and bow motion, and aural skill development. No instrument is needed and all materials are included.
Our program uses the Suzuki violin method, developed by Japanese pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki in the mid-twentieth century. Suzuki music lessons focus on developing aural skills at an early age, working closely with the parent, and learning with other children to build a supportive musical community. The primary focus of Suzuki music education is the development of character as the student works to master his/her instrument. Learning patience, respect for classmates and parents, and perseverance are of the utmost importance.
Registration is open for our first session which begins, Monday, September 14, 2020 at 3pm. MLE Suzuki violin instructors Natasha Marsalli and Dr. Erin Heidrick will be hosting a parent info session and Q&A on Facebook Live on 8/24/20 at 5pm. We are limiting class enrollment to only three students at this time, so register quickly before the spaces are gone by clicking HERE.
We do have safety precautions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
