Ms. Ramos performs selections from the Suzuki violin books as part of her lecture recital.

Music Lessons Express was pleased to host guest teacher Elizabeth Ramos for our Suzuki Violin Day on February 22nd at the MLE Studio. As a part of our Suzuki parent education series, Ms. Ramos performed a lecture recital entitled “Beginning Teaching and the End Result: the evolution of Suzuki Book One skills through the violin repertoire.” She also taught four of our students, Karan Komuroji, Eric Zhu, Jolin Zhu, and Luxmi Narayan, in a masterclass. Parents, students, and instructors alike were inspired by Ms. Ramos’ thoughtful presentation, beautiful playing, and masterful teaching.

Luxmi Narayan performs “Humoresque” during a masterclass with Ms. Ramos. Frank Kuhny accompanies on piano.

Ms. Ramos holds degrees in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Hartt School of Music. She is currently finishing her doctoral degree in violin performance at Florida State University. Ms. Ramos is registered to teach violin Suzuki Books 1 through 8 with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. An active performer, Ms. Ramos has recently performed concertos with orchestras throughout the midwest and has premiered new works with the Sphinx Chamber Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.

Special thanks to instructor Frank Kuhny for accompanying Ms. Ramos and our students.
