North Florida Suzuki violin students Ethan Cannon (11th grade) and Pavit Patel (8th grade) represented their school, Florida State University Schools, at the 2024 Florida All-State orchestras in Tampa this past weekend. The 2024 Florida Music Educators Conference which hosts the All-State ensembles is one of the largest music education professional development events in the country with over 10,000 people attending every year. Ethan and Pavit participated in the high school and middle school honors orchestras, respectively, nominated by their school orchestra director, Terice Allen.

Ethan has been a violin student at NFSS for three years. Pavit has been a guitar student with Dr. Ben Lougheed at NFSS since he was four years old and joined the violin program in 2019. Both students study with Natasha Marsalli, executive director and are active musicians in the Tallahassee community, performing in their school ensembles, the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras, and participating in NFSS ensemble and solo performances on a regular basis.
